Code

The Greek Code of Advertising and Communications Practice was adopted in 1973 and based on the ICC International Code of Advertising Practice. The Code has since been updated to include sector-specific rules. In late 2006 the Code was revised to incorporate the new ICC Consolidated Code of Advertising and Marketing Communication Practice.

Complaints handling

A complaint must be addressed in writing to the First Degree Committee, together with the identity of the complainant, details of the offending advertisement and of the articles of the Code which are allegedly breached.

Copy advice/pre-clearance

The SEE offers copy advice service for advertisers, agencies and media, for all kinds of advertisement. This advice is not binding, and a fee is charged for it. A response is usually given within five days. The SEE does not operate a pre-clearance system.
