Date of establishment: The present SRO was set up in 1981 to replace the Court of Ethics (Ehrengericht).

The Guidelines of the Swiss Commission for Fairness apply to all kinds of commercial communications.

Complaints handling

The SLK/CSL handles complaints from both competitors and consumers. Complaints should be submitted in writing to the Commission’s Secretariat, clearly stating the grounds for the complaint and enclosing a copy or clear description of the advertisement. All consumer complaints are handled free of charge. In the case of complaints between competitors there is an administration charge.

Copy advice/pre-clearance

The SLK/CSL does not provide copy advice or pre-clear advertisements.
