EASA contributes to newly launched Cosmetics Charter

EASA and its members made extensive contributions as part of the drafting process of the Cosmetics Charter and accompanying Guiding Principles on responsible advertising and marketing communication launched by Cosmetics Europe on 21 June.

This self-regulatory initiative aims to ensure socially responsible cosmetics advertising and marketing communications across Europe, by focusing on product claims substantiation and image honesty.

Oliver Gray, EASA's General-Director highlighted that the Cosmetics Europe Charter and Guiding Principles initiative are an important step in the cosmetics industry's drive to establish effective and robust best practice self-regulation across Europe. EASA and its members will now work with Cosmetics Europe on the implementation of the self-regulatory framework at national level.
