The Bulgarian self-regulatory body - Национален съвет за саморегулация (HCC) or in English: the National Council for Self-Regulation (NCSR) - was launched on 30 September at an official conference in Sofia attended by representatives of European and national advertising industry bodies, NGOs and the Bulgarian regulatory authorities. The NCSR has been set up to help ensure that all marketing communications are prepared with a due sense of professional responsibility to the consumer and the society.
With the launch of this project, advertising self-regulation is now operational in 23 of the 27 EU Member States, covering 97% of the EU’s population. EASA continues to promote effective self-regulation as an alternative policy option for advertising in the remaining EU Member States.
