Jean-Pierre Teyssier was elected Chairman of EASA in the spring of 2005. President of the French Bureau de Vérification de la Publicité (BVP) since 1999, Mr Teyssier is also professeur associé at Paris-Dauphine University, and Vice President of the European Institute for the Media (EIM) in Dusseldorf.

Mr Teyssier’s long and distinguished career has been dedicated to communication. A graduate of the Ecole Nationale d’Administration, he has held roles as Secretary General of French TV channel TF1, Director of Production and Distribution at RTL Télévision, President of the French national lottery Française des Jeux, and President of the French National Audiovisual Institute. He has also been communications aide to Jacques Chirac and Edouard Balladur. Upon his return to the French civil service in 1999 to the Cour des comptes, he was selected by the French advertising and media industry as the independent President of the BVP.

Mr Teyssier has authored several books; his latest work Frapper sans heurter: quelle éthique pour la publicité? was published in 2004 by Armand Colin.

Mr Teyssier is married with three children and lives in Paris.
