The European Advertising Standards Alliance (EASA) is delighted to announce the publication of its 2021 Annual Report.

It was released at the time of the EASA and ICAS joint meetings in Dublin. The report features a new design and the upgraded EASA’s visual identity with its new logo.

Ad SR is living up to its long-standing legacy and demonstrating, once again, its nimbleness,” said EASA Chair, Charo Fernando Magarzo in her introduction to the Annual Report 2021, “Members of EASA’s SR network are collectively addressing rising societal issues such as environment and sustainability and embracing technology to continue ensuring tomorrow that advertising is legal, decent, honest, truthful and socially responsible.”

EASA’s and the network’s accomplishments and activities are detailed in the report.

According to the latest cross-border complaints statistics, the network handled 332 complaints and misleading advertising was the most complained about issue, along with digital marketing communications as the most complained about medium. Moreover, the report summarises all the webinars EASA held in 2021, hosting 44% more online sessions than in 2020. In addition to discussing collaboration with EASA partners, EDAA, ICAS, and ICC, the report covers the latest developments in data-driven self-regulation initiatives across Europe, as well as EASA’s engagement with digital players.
