Are you detail-oriented young professional, able to navigate complex political and regulatory landscapes, with a passion for European public affairs? Join the European Advertising Standards Alliance (EASA), a dynamic, international not-for-profit organisation at the heart of advertising self-regulation in Europe.
We’re looking for a Public Affairs and Policy Assistant to join our small, friendly team in Brussels. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience and contribute to EU policymaking through advocacy.
EASA is a non-profit organisation that brings together national advertising self-regulatory organisations (SROs) from over 25 countries across Europe, industry associations (advertisers, communications agencies, and media) and digital players. Its main purpose is to promote responsible advertising through effective self-regulation, working closely with EU institutions and other international bodies to ensure ethical advertising.
What You’ll Do:
- Monitoring of EU policy files related to self-regulation, media, consumer protection and advertising;
- Attending EU-related events and conferences, note-taking;
- Comparing draft legislative acts with self-regulatory rules and codes;
- Mapping of policymakers and stakeholders;
- Supporting advocacy and outreach activities towards relevant policymakers;
- Building and maintaining a network of institutional contacts for advocacy purposes;
- Support with EASA’s policy newsletter;
- You will be reporting directly to EASA’s Public Affairs and Policy Manager
Who We’re Looking For
- You’re a young professional or recent graduate in political science, European affairs, law or related fields;
- You have some experience with:
- Monitoring legislative files
- Drafting position papers, briefs or newsletters
- Summarizing complex policy documents
- You have a sound understanding of:
- European institutions
- European law-making process
- The EU political landscape
- You have excellent analytical skills;
- Strong drafting skills and verbal communication skills;
- You are able to work both independently and collaboratively, within an international team;
- Well-organised, eager to learn, interested in European affairs;
- You have an excellent command of English – other languages are an asset;
- Experience with a CRM and/or social media communication are assets;
- You’re an EU citizen
