EASA welcomes a new SRO member, the Lithuanian Advertising Standards Bureau
27 May 2024
Following EASA’s General Assembly meeting that took place in Amsterdam during the Biannual Meetings, we are happy to announce that the Lithuanian Advertising Standards Bureau joined the Alliance as an observer member.
The organisations’ representatives Alvyde Palaimaite and Ugnė Sungailė travelled to Amsterdam, where they had the opportunity to present themselves and connect with the other members.
The Lithuanian Advertising Standards Bureau has been officially established in May, under the lead of the Lithuanian Marketing Association. The Lithuanian Marketing Association is a 19-year-old organization that unites more than 1,400 professionals and business representatives in marketing and related fields. The main goal of LiMA is to strengthen the field of marketing and enhance its perceived value in Lithuania. The need to establish an advertising self-regulatory body is stated in the Advertising Law of the Republic of Lithuania, and the need has been identified by both business associations and public authorities, as they are often confronted with grey areas in the legal regulation of advertising, such as provisions on morality, ethics and so on. The Lithuanian Advertising Standards Bureu provides a tangible solutions to this – and many more – problem.
We are delighted to have this new SRO and their expertise on board, and looking forward to collaborate and work together.
